75 Not Out A Birthday Celebration and Fundraising Dinner in Honour of
Harold "Dickie" Bird MBE

THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT

The world’s greatest cricket umpire is 75 not out in the spring, and the Foundation’s trustees are organising a special fundraising dinner in honour of Harold ‘Dickie’ Bird MBE.

To be staged at the Metropole Hotel, Leeds, on the evening of Thursday, April 10, 2008, the event will celebrate the career of this proud Yorkshireman and raise funds for The Dickie Bird Foundation, a registered charity that helps young people to pursue their sporting dreams.

It promises to be a night to remember with guest speakers headed by Sir  Michael Parkinson, the recently retired TV interviewer. BBC Look North presenter Harry Gration will also be among those present.

There will also be a table raffle and an auction as we help Dickie to reminisce on his legendary encounters with the great characters of cricket and world sport.

Tickets for this special occasion cost just £40 per person – or £360 for a table of 10. The price includes a three-course meal and two bottles of wine per table.

All proceeds will go to the Foundation which provides grants to children aged under who would not otherwise be able to afford to participate in sporting activities. All that counts is the taking part.

With your support, even more children will have the chance to appreciate the value of sport.

All Trustees of the Foundation are volunteers, therefore your donations go directly to the recipients of the charity’s grants.

We look forward to receiving a favourable response from you so we can honour one of the great characters of Yorkshire – and British – sport.

Please do not hesitate to contact me for further details about the dinner, booking information or how you can help support The Dickie Bird Foundation fulfil its objectives.
